CCCAA

In all of their activities, the COA and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) are governed by the following values.

  • STUDENT HEALTH AND WELFARE: The protection and enhancement of the physical health and educational welfare of the student athletes is preeminent in the COA’s administration of intercollegiate athletic programs.
  • ACADEMIC SUCCESS: The COA requires that student athletes maintain satisfactory progress toward an educational goal and good academic standing in their college.
  • ETHICAL CONDUCT: The COA requires that everyone involved with the intercollegiate athletics conduct themselves with the highest degree of honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship.
  • AMATEURISM: Students participating in intercollegiate athletics are amateurs whose motivation is to engage in sport activities as a part of their academic program.
  • EQUITABLE COMPETITION: The COA is committed to providing the opportunity for equitable competition to all student athletes.
  • RECOGNITITION OF EXCELLENCE: The COA administers championship competitions and awards and celebrations so that exceptional student athletes and college teams will have the opportunity to demonstrate, and be recognized for their excellence.
  • GENDER EQUITY: The COA is committed to providing an environment in which equitable athletic opportunities, benefits, and resources are available to all students, in which every person is treated with respect and dignity.
  • NON-DISCRIMINATION: The COA is committed to promoting an atmosphere within its athletic competition that is free from sexual harassment or discrimination in its programs on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, and marital or familiar status.
San Diego Miramar College, the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference, and the California Community College Athletic Association appreciate your patronage and support of Community College Athletics. We are committed to creating and maintaining a positive competitive environment for our student athletes. We ask that our fans cheer for and support their team with vigor and enthusiasm without demeaning the opponent or game officials. Fans that engage in the use of vulgarity, personal comments, and whose actions detract from a positive competitive environment will be asked to leave the venue.
